My Middle Years Programme (MYP) Personal Project
My school is involved in a program called the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. This rigorous course teaches students critical thinking skills that they can not only use to benefit their school, but their community and the world around them. The IB Programme also teaches values (Learner Profiles) like being open-minded, principled, reflective, balanced, caring, and knowledgeable. It also teaches you to be a risk-taker, a communicator, a thinker, and an inquirer.
The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is the first program and it lasts from kindergarten all the way to 5th grade. Once you are a 6th grader, you are part of the Middle Years Programme (MYP). This section of the program lasts until you are a sophomore in high school. At the end of your sophomore year in high school, you have the choice to continue with the IB Programme (the Diploma Programme) or you can quit IB. However, before you leave the MYP Programme, you have to complete a project during your sophomore year. Your project is called the MYP Personal Project and it can really be about anything you want!
